FUNCTION: Legal and External Affairs
LOCATION: Istanbul, Turkey
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
At BAT, we are looking for a legal counsel from all backgrounds to join our TCNC (Turkey – Caucasus) Cluster in-house legal team that supports to shape the current and future agenda of the company!
You will be accountable at:
- Contributing to the development of company’s vision and strategies.
- Rendering pragmatic legal advice and analyzing and resolving legal issues that arise in day-to-day operations in all areas of responsibility.
- Supporting business by attending business meetings, being part of project teams, providing straight forward and creative legal solutions.
- Liaising with business units to ensure that legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
- Interpreting and advising on current and new legislation related with the industry.
- Ensuring compliance with global procedures, marketing policies, Standards of Business Conduct, and sanctions; developing necessary plans and actions to meet compliance objectives and lead the TCNC Cluster compliance agenda.
- Conducting contract management for stakeholders, assess legal implications that need to be brought to their attention and prepare, review, and modify contractual instruments.
- Reviewing progress of pending litigation, manage external lawyers and shape the strategy.
- Conducting corporate governance processes.

- Has 4 to 5 years of experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel
- Is commercially minded, can evaluate complex legal issues and deliver focused advice

- Is excited to be part of a team bringing new to world products to the market
- Can comfortably communicate with business leaders
- Is a self-starter with the ability to manage own priorities
