QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Legal Manager
The incumbent will be reporting to Legal Director, a member of the Management Team.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and provide negotiation support for a broad range of commercial contracts to which JTI is or will be a party.
- Advise on all areas of law including but not limited to tobacco related laws & regulations, competition laws, tax laws, data protection laws & regulations.
- Advise on labor matters, work in close collaboration with P&C Department on all employment issues and discuss with other related departments where needed or appropriate
- Develop and implement litigation strategies, initiate, defend, manage and follow up of litigation and disputes (specifically labor litigations)
- Participate in the creation/modification of policies and other internal processes specially relating to Environment, Health & Safety, Personal Data protection, Labor Law issues.
- Monitor changes and development in the legal and regulatory environment within which the Company operates & informs the related internal parties.
- Manage official correspondences with government institutions and prepare the reply letters for official queries in favor of the company.
- Work with other functions within the company generally to ensure appropriate mitigation of risk and management of issues.
- Assist Legal Director in all functions of Legal Department.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Law,
- Min. 10 years of similar experience (multinational company)
- Expertise in labor litigation is an asset
- Good knowledge of all areas of law including but not limited to environment, health and safety laws and regulations, tax laws, data protection laws & regulations
- Ability to assess legal issues while taking into consideration the business needs and priorities,
- High proficiency in MS Office applications,
- High proficiency in English and Turkish,
- Advanced level of communicating/handling legal matters in English,
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills,
- Positive thinker with a winning attitude,
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines,
