QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Koç University Office of Learning and Teaching (KOLT) is an academic unit of the university, established to support the faculty, instructors, teaching assistants, and students in pursuit of excellence in education. Koç University will be hiring a Coordinator for KOLT who will be reporting to the Director of the Office of Learning and Teaching and will be involved in all activities of KOLT. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in Educational Sciences (Curriculum and Instruction, Science Education, Measurement and Evaluation in Education) from a reputable university
  • Five years of professional experience in educational institutions, preferably in higher education
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize multiple projects, ability to track progress on several tasks with minimal or no supervision
  • Excellent command of both oral and written English
  • Ability to design and deliver faculty and student development workshops in English
  • Ability to act as a role model to the students, teaching assistants, and tutors
  • Strong presentation skills in English
  • Tech-savvy and professional use of Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis
  • No military obligation for male candidates
  • Flexibility in work schedule as needed


JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Supporting faculty members and teaching assistants in their pedagogical and professional development by designing workshops and conducting one-to-one consultation sessions
  • Coordinating faculty and student development programs and activities
  • Researching to identify recent issues and international innovations in teaching and learning
  • Conducting statistical analyses of Koc University databases to identify areas of action for KOLT and to evaluate KOLT activities
  • Prepare program evaluation reports or annual reports as necessary
  • Provide support to academic programs in their accreditation processes, learning, and teaching-related projects, initiatives, and activities as necessary
