QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Çayeli Bakır İşletmeleri A.Ş. (CBI) is owned by First Quantum Minerals Ltd. which is an established and rapidly growing mining and metals company .CBI is an underground mine and produces copper and zinc in Madenli, Çayeli in the Province of Rize on the eastern Black Sea coast. During the life of the operation, CBI has continuously looked for opportunities to enhance its reputation and performance through the application of leading international practice in all areas of its business. CBI is sensitive to the environment, respectful to the local people and one of the leading enterprises in terms of its technical infrastructure in the Turkish mining sector.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Processing Manager, this position will provide strategic and operational leadership to the operation & metallurgical teams, optimizing the short and long-term performance of the processing plant to maximize copper and zinc production and recovery;
Responsibilities
- Ensures the safe, efficient and sustainable operation of the all sections of the plant to meet or exceed safety, production, costs and recovery targets.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, company policies and standards.
- Develops and improves standard safe working procedures and actively participate in HSE initiatives.
- Ensure that proactive measures are taken related to production risks.
- Optimizes to ensure plant performance to maximize metal recoveries in a cost- saving manner.
- Provides a compatible and efficieny working environment with engineers and supervisors working under this position and to contribute to their development.
- Coordinates and upgrades the efficiency and modernization studies of the plant.
- Provides coordination with maintenance, mining, and other departments.
- Ensure the preparation of all production reports of the plant.
- Prepares and follow up the operational and capital budget of the department.
Requirements
- University Degree in Mining Engineering or Mineral Processing Engineering (a degree in English is preferred). (A Masters’ or Doctorate degree is preferred).
- Minimum 6 years of experience and in-depth knowledge at operating processing plants.
- Highly effective organizational and analytical skills with the ability to problem-solving and make decisions
- Proven leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
- Expert knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Willing to reside in Çayeli or Rize
