QUALIFICATIONS

• BS degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• A proven record of successful negotiations & setting negotiation strategies.
• Min 5 years experience in a similar position in a multi-national company
• Financial awareness, understanding of product and material costings, margins and company accounts.
• Sound knowledge of manufacturing, along with a “hands on” approach towards site / supplier issues, and problem solving.
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Good command of ERP (preferably JD Edwards) and excellent MS office knowledge


JOB DESCRIPTION

Ideal candidate is an experienced procurement professional with a background in implementing procurement procedures, on time delivery of ordered materials and services, delivering savings, process improvements, introducing framework agreements, contract negotiations and running the full tendering process from bid to completion.
Principal Accountabilities
• To source, negotiate, agree & manage contracts with suppliers covering raw materials & services
• Execute daily procurement activities from the generation of new purchase orders to the delivery at premises.
• Execute material planning activities in scope in line with production schedules & inventory management policies.
• Provide expertise in the management of the supplier’s performance covering; quality, service, technical standards, innovation and continuous improvements. In conjunction other departments as required.
• Develop and implement appropriate long and short-term strategic and tactical initiative in order to achieve specific buying, sourcing targets
• Provide the business with up-to-date knowledge on suppliers, markets and trends
• Have input into the sites purchasing strategy and budgets
• Provide knowledge & a sound understanding of Contract Law & Legal requirements for the function
• Develop close working relationships and promote overall integration with NPD, Planning, Commercial, Technical and Finance teams to ensure strong formal link on all purchasing activities.
• Directly supervises employees in the department performing procurement, negotiations and supplier assessment activities.
• Responsibilities include hiring, training, developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
