QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Description:


The Program Manager will report to the Americas Customer Programs Director and manage a portfolio of Internal and/or Customer Programs for Airties’ Americas Business Unit. One of his/her main responsibilities will be to bridge the time difference gap between the Austin time zone, where the customer facing Program Manager is located, and Istanbul, where Airties’ R&D and Operations reside, to ensure that activities managed in Turkey are addressed in a timely manner. As such, he/she will cover the management of products or of licensing projects through the coordination of multi-disciplinary project teams, the mass production ramp up supervision, but also the in-life support of the customer accounts after the 1st delivery.


The first focus of the Program Manager will be to manage a global team of internal resources for the successful delivery of Airties’ next generation Wi-Fi extenders, Airties’ Cloud software, and Airties’ edge software integrated in 3rd party gateways. At a later phase, the Program Manager will also be involved in full execution of hardware/software projects including direct customer communications.


Job Requirements:


  • BSc degree in Engineering, PMP certification is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience
  • Strong background in embedded HW/SW development lifecycle and Telecommunications is a must
  • Experience in Wi-Fi, and Cloud services is preferred
  • Experience in a multinational company or within an international context is preferred
  • Experience in product development projects and manufacturing projects is preferred
  • Experience with Jira software (for issue tracking) is a plus
  • Very good English communication (written and spoken), negotiation and conflicts management skills, able to adapt his communication to his audience (customer, internal team member, Management Team)
  • Strong leadership skills, decision maker, team player, self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic multi-cultural environment
  • Customer and business oriented, resistance to stress, ability to travelif needed


Main responsibilities:


Project preparation

  • Supports the Business Unit by reviewing and commenting the relevant contract clauses
  • Prepares the Phase 1 presentation to the Executive team, and upon approval kicks off a customer project
  • Prepares a project scope, a detailed execution planning with the relevant resources from Engineering and Operations, a project budget, a risks management, and mitigation plan
  • Prepares a Customer Statement of Work, and gets it approved the customer


Project execution


  • Drives Engineering and Operations teams to execute the project plan in line with Airties’ commitment to the customer in terms of delivery date, cost and quality
  • Regularly tracks the risks mitigation plan to minimize schedule, costs and quality impacts
  • Tracks the project’s financial targets on a monthly basis (budget, product cost evolution, business case changes…) and raises major deviations to the Management Team
  • Ensures that the Airties Product Development Life Cycle process is followed and prepares the phases approval
  • For industrial projects, ensures a smooth introduction in the factory by being the key point of contact for the Operations team, and by managing rigorously the factory key
  • Supports in-life customer requests after the first product deployment


Business support


  • Identifies ways to maximize Airties’ profit by improving the business case (product cost reduction, project budget optimization) or by charging activities to the customer
  • Works closely with the BUs on the pipeline process to anticipate the potential needs for new Program activities
  • Participates frequently to Customer meetings


Internal and external communication


  • Hosts weekly project reviews with the Project team and weekly Steering Committees with the customer to review the Project progress and priorities, the possible Program Scope changes and the outstanding actions
  • Generates a weekly status report and a KPI dashboard for the Management and Project Team
  • Raises immediately any red flag to the Management Team


Processes and quality


  • Put a strong focus on Product design and quality
  • Actively use methods, processes, and tools for project planning, tracking and reporting needs. (MS Project, Visio, Office tools etc.)
  • Strives for internal processes improvement
