QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

LOOKING FOR FULL TIME QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER FOR OUR NEW INDUSTRIAL PROJECT IN TARSUS, MERSİN TURKEY


Position Description:

Quality Assurance/ Quality Control Engineer will be employed by Turner. Project Management Company will manage construction and contractors. The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the contractors supervised adhere to construction documents, quality requirements as well as the project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Plan.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement project-specific Quality Control Plan. Plan, monitor, document, and report compliance with contract requirements.
  • Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents (including Project Management Company’s contract, project plans, specifications and applicable codes).
  • Develop and execute the project-specific QA/QC Plan with scopes of work and work procedures.
  • Develop method statements for different types of construction works thru contractor, review, ensure compliance with the construction manager.
  • Develop engineering procedures, including document control, submissions management, creation and tracking of Request For Information (RFIs), material samples, documentation and tracking of potential cost changes.
  • Implement project-specific QA/QC Plan.
  • Lead regularly scheduled Quality Control tracking/update meetings with project staff.
  • Participate in all mock-up installations, reviews and approvals.
  • Create reporting processes and templates to be used by QC team and distributed to Client.
  • Establish the Inspection Request process internally to work with the Client QA and Inspection department.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and vendors to ensure that the project-specific QA/QC Plan delivers a fully compliant project.
  • Understand the project execution plan and coordinate Quality Control procedures at appropriate stages of the work and in line with the project schedule.
  • Continually improve strategies and tools to efficiently and effectively document, track and record compliance with the contract documents.
  • Execute the project-specific QA/QC Plan in a manner that engages all project staff, subcontractors, vendors and consultants.
  • Conduct testing and inspections and arrange for third-party testing and inspections. Analyze and report the results.
  • Expand the development of the Plan as the project progresses as appropriate to expand the program by continually improving procedures.
  • Oversight of the development of punch lists.
  • Oversight of the development of Daily Construction Reports (DCRs).
  • Direct removal and replacement of, and document all non-compliant materials and/or workmanship. Document compliance after corrective work is completed prior to starting any subsequent work.
  • Oversight of project close-out and quality reports.
  • Research and apply additional Quality Control and Lean procedures to enhance the quality of project delivery.Participate in coordination meetings, Foreman’s meetings and Staff meetings

* May perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Min 5-10 years’ experience as a Quality Control Engineer role in the construction industry; high rise; commercial/residential tower experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quality Control or related field.
  • Proven track record of meeting production and quality standards in fast-paced construction environments
  • Experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
  • Knowledge of the construction process, means and methods, and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances. Experience in International projects is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of project management software.
  • Very strong communication skills are required.
  • Proven leadership and skills with the desire to teach and mentor staff.
  • Required language(s): English verbal & written communication skills preferred.
