QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
- Engineering Bachelor’s Degree from reputable University. Most preferably Mechanical or Aeronautical engineer. MSC or PHD is an asset.
- Min. 5 years experience in similar field.
- Using Autocad and 3D CAD software is a must (Solid Works and CATIA is preferred.)
- Experience about machine structures design is a must. Heavy machinery design experience is an asset.
- At least basic know-how about manufacturing technologies and techniques i.e. machining, forming, welding, mechanical & electric sub systems assembly.
- Basic knowledge about composite structures and manufacturing processes.
- FEA experience is a strong asset.
- Geometrical tolerancing and basic metrology techniques know-how is preferred.
- Basics of project planning and management methodologies
- Fluency in both written & spoken English.
- Enjoy a mix of conceptual, computer and hands on work,
- Design & Develop innovative equipment, tooling and other products (from concept to deployment) to support company’s technology development initiatives,
- Assist production deployment activities of the developed equipment.
- Manage prototyping activities performed at supplier and/or company’s own shop floor to make sure prototypes meet product requirements.
- Develop innovative ideas and projects for breakthrough improvements on product and/or process technologies.
- Make research for technology trends and new technologies on related industries. Investigate application and deployment opportunities for the company.
- Collaborate with universities, other R&D centers, Customers and suppliers for innovation initiatives.
- Support R&D center periodic progress reporting and management activities.
- Support Intellectual property management activities
- Prepare documentation like specifications, project progress and final reports.
- Collaborate with related departments to set new R&D areas and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with global engineering organization to maintain alignment with company’s global technology development roadmap.
