Job Description
- Responsible for the release of EDS harnesses and components into customer systems
- Manage customer interface for releasing activities on responsible projects
- Ensure Customer EDS Engineer and supervisor are aware of status of all releases
- Be the first point of contact for all customer system related activities (Parts Release and Alerts)
- Interface to customer releasing team to ensure releases are actioned correctly, accurately and efficiently
- Follow up and resolve releasing questions / issue from the customer and internally
- Support customer change management meeting where required to ensure timely progression of releases
- Define, check and implement complex customer system coding to ensure wiring harness usages support the program and prototype and production vehicle builds
- Enter part information into customer system. Create concerns and track to completion to support program timing
- Create customer system alerts and track status
- Enter part information into BOM system, including defining feature coding, to ensure wiring harness usages support the customer program timing and gateways with the required completion status
- Investigate part shortages with logistics team and make proposals for alternatives and resolve releasing issues
- Attend meetings with customer and Yazaki project teams to represent releasing topics
- Work closely with Yazaki design team and project leader to establish complexity lists for part composites, derivatives and related modules
- Maintain complexity lists and keep careful tracking of changes
- Store and distribute complexity lists for assigned projects
- Follow up and resolve complexity questions / issue from the customer
- Create Cost Control Model BOM's and track changes in specification
- Calculate take rates for each harness derivatives and KSK module
- Validate prototype vehicle BOMs for EDS content and resolve issues
- Review and analyse customer product direction documents (PDL, TIB, etc) for EDS content and track changes and open issues to resolution
- Use tools to check alignment of release parts to customer PDO, identify and resolve issues with missing parts, double cover etc.
- Work closely with the internal project team and customer
- Support Supervisor / team leader to implement new process and tools
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement for processes and workflow
- Assist with the induction and training of new team members
- Follow Yazaki Quality Management System (QMS) as defined in the YEL Quality Manual stored in EQMS
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree Engineering or relevant fields
- High level of computer literacy
- Experience of Vehicle EDS or electrical systems preferred
- Proficient user of BOM and similar customer systems
- Understanding of part complexity
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills
- High attention to detail
- Logical thinking and problem solving
- Self-motivation and prioritisation
- Ability to work in a team as well as alone
- Advanced English language skills (written and spoken)
- Male candidates should have completed military service
