QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an English-speaking Senior Fashion Merchandiser with a minimum of 4 + years industry experience in the textile industry (jersey, woven and tailoring), confident and experienced working with online retailers and factories. The Senior Fashion Merchandiser will be required to work in our Istanbul (Gunesli) office. They will be joining our small team and working closely with our international colleagues in the UK office. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced exciting environment with a great team.
Job Description:
× Managing the development critical path navigating orders for different customers and ensuring delivery dates are maintained through clear communication and management of teams.
× Managing new developments from initial briefing to sample submission to team/ customer. This will include working with the UK based Senior Designer.
× Must have a clear understanding of tech packs, editing information and where necessary and liaising with the UK design team. Providing support and solutions within the company to minimise production risk and help manage cost submission for fabrics and trims.
× Build and maintain relationships and close contact with trim and fabric suppliers and any customer nominated suppliers.
× Good knowledge of a width of fabrics and a good understanding of what fabrics work for which styles and the ability to suggest alternatives if selected fabrics won’t work.
× Excellent knowledge and understanding of pattern cutting from start to finish of the process to be able to support our junior pattern cutter to develop and increase in confidence and product width.
× Managing the pattern cutter(s) and sample makers and their workload on a daily basis, ensure their growth and training within new categories of development for the business
× Responsible for reviewing specs, tech packs, measurement specs, customer samples, fit samples, approvals (lab dips, trims etc) and fit comments.
× Responsible for highlighting and raising any issues related to samples dates, measurement specs, patterns and critical path to ensure on time deliveries.
× Reviewing approvals and comments internally with the Head of Merchandising before submitting styles to the factory for manufacturing.
× Regular updates of internal documents and submissions chased through.
× Attend weekly critical path meetings with Head of Merchandising and UK team to update on each line status.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
· Minimum 4 years industry experience working as a fashion Merchandiser or within a fast fashion supplier company
· Must speak English
· Experience with a variation of fabric types mainly knit, jersey and woven.
· Have strong knowledge including patterning, sewing, and cutting, basic QA and production planning.
· Have knowledge of techniques including treatments (tie dye, washes etc), digital and screen printing, embroidery, and applique
· Excellent leadership skills
· Excellent Excel Skills
· Drivers licence – not a necessity
