QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Merchandiser_Textile

THE POSITION:

  • Report to Textile Seasonal Merchandise and Sourcing Manager
  • Responsible for EUROMED area (Turkey and African countries; mainly Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia..) for all ready to wear product categories(Knit, Denim, Tricot and Woven) for mainly long and mid term collections.

  • Responsible from the development stage to in store delivery of the goods. Making sure the quality, price and on time delivery expectation is met.

  • Work collaboratively with the buying team in European countries, global sourcing offices, quality team and supply chain team.

  • Process the development requests from the buyers, provide on time samples, prices and delivery information in the target of getting the market confirmation. Follow up on time approvals from the buying team.

  • Make a production plan, build a critical path with the suppliers in cooperation with the quality team. Create an everyday follow up system with the suppliers in order to secure on time production, testing, development sample and label approvals. Working closely with the supply chain team in order to make sure about on time shipment.

  • Report daily-weekly-monthly on the development and production status, supplier performance and current/new projects.

  • Develop the business to increase the volume and market share within global sourcing offices by finding new opportunities in the Euromed area with current or new suppliers. Search and develop new sourcing areas and expand the supplier portfolio. Make open costing and price benchmarks with the new suppliers by ensuring quality level of the product and service.

  • Research and develop to provide cost saving to the business unit

  • Develop and expand sustainable product range within the company standards and goals.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Textile Engineering, Business Management, Fashion or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in sourcing or retail operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Influential, charismatic and with good negotiation skills.
  • Analytical, proactive and with good organization skills.
  • Resilient, diligent and with good problem-solving skills.
  • Result oriented, hard working by deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluent in oral & written English. Good knowledge of French or Spanish is plus
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally within a team.
