As Turkey's fastest growing online office supply company Avansas.com, we are looking for an "Sourcing Executive" with the following qualifications.

Working within the UK Trade and Merchandising team and alongside the Avansas Turkey Trade team to source and develop the internationally sourced product assortment and supplier base in line with the UK assortment strategy. Sourcing quality Branded and Private Brand product from International Sources such as existing and new suppliers in Turkey, Eastern Europe, and the Far East.


Skills and Experience

  • University Graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a Buying/ Sourcing role in an International, Retail / B2B product business
  • Demonstratable experience of buying product for international markets and resale to B2B consumers and end use consumers.
  • Experience of Buying / Sourcing product ranges within the Office / Business Supplies sector would be an advantage
  • Track record of negotiating buying contracts as well as building strong working relationships with product suppliers.
  • Fluent in English language – Written and Verbal
  • Experience of using SAP and all Microsoft tools
  • Respectful, self-confident, and strong character with a hands-on approach to all tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and economically.
  • Flexible approach to prioritisation and a team player.
  • Strong organizational ability and detailed.
  • Dynamic, energetic, and positive minded character
  • Innovative and creative, with a logical and methodical approach to problem solving.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • As part of the overall business strategy and working closely with the UK Category team develop the Internationally sourced element of the UK product assortment
  • Work closely with the Turkish Trade Category teams to ensure excellent knowledge of the Avansas Turkey assortment , New Product developments and New supplier introduction.
  • Clear communication of relevant Avansas Turkey assortment to the UK Category team to allow selection decisions to be made based on key kpi’s such as Brand , Cost , Margin opportunity, Assortment suitabilty
  • Ensure all neccesary quality documentation for Private Brand and OEM Brand (SDS,3rd party tests,) where required, is obtained from suppliers and stored accordingly.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Private brand assortment strategy and ensuring product compliance with UK regulatory needs
  • Work closely with the Turkish Category teams and relevant Design teams to contribute to activities to improve Private Brand packaging and product specification to ensure that UK specific requirements are considered and implemented.
  • Negotiate UK specific purchasing contracts with suppliers where required to improve company margin results whilst always protecting the company interests including compliance to relevant UK regulations where applicable
  • Create excellent working relationships with Turkish and International suppliers ensuring understading of the UK market requirements to maximise supplier support both financially and through ‘soft’ support such as provision of enriched content and marketing support.
  • Obtain best prices and continually improving payment terms from suppliers
  • Search for and establish new supplier alternatives both in Turkey and from International markets
  • Working closely with the UK Inventory team to ensure the Turkish and Internationally sourced assortment is made available for supply to the UK ensuring 100% availabilty to UK consumer.
  • Supporting the Inventory team to maximise the supplier performances to contribute to hit the stock turnover targets and improve supply performance
  • Support Merchandising management by ensuring quality product content and product visuals made available by suppliers
  • Identification of right product selling value propositions based on market needs and implementation
  • Utilize analytics and performance marketing tools to gain insights to improve product performance
  • Follow the market and competition data to propose and then implement competitive sales opportunties
  • Contribute to strategies to enable the product sales mix to be made from more profitable product groups
  • Investigate and propose new business development opportunities on existing categories/products based on changes in customer expectations and competitor analysis.
