What You'll Be Doing
Providing value-added insights to the business through the application of data science to help our representatives, customers and sales leaders. A senior member of the data science team leading conversion of algorithms from prototype to fully operational and automated state.
Key Responsibilities
Formulating and managing data-driven projects, using specialist expertise to guide and influence stakeholders on approaches which are geared at furthering the business’s interests.Acting as trusted advisors to stakeholders on the application of data science to support themResponsible for the end to end, successful delivery of projects byCollating and cleaning data from various entitiesSelecting and employing advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insightsCross-validating models to ensure their generalizabilityProducing and disseminating non-technical reports that detail the successes and limitations of each projectIdentify how insights obtained can be used to inform business strategiesMaking pragmatic decisions to ensure projects are delivered on time and ultimate business objective is metTakes active approach to ensure awareness of developments in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure that outputs are always relevant and proactively shares learning with wider teamMentor the junior members of the team, and operate as a subject matter expert across the businessUsing the experience and expertise to support and mentor market analytics teams in the application of data science techniques to ensure consistency and application of recent developments
We'd Love You To Have
5+ years experience of applied Data ScienceAdvanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or similarExtensive experience as a Data ScientistProficiency in R or Python, where the latter is preferredIn-depth understanding of SQLCompetent in machine learning principles and techniquesDemonstrable history of devising and overseeing data-centered projectsAbility to relay insights in layman’s terms, such that these can be used to inform business decisionsOutstanding supervision and mentorship abilitiesCapacity to foster a healthy, stimulating work environment that frequently harnesses teamwork.
