QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Description:
As a Sump Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering innovative and reliable designs for aviation Gas Turbine Sump components. You will have a comprehensive understanding of the technical challenges and apply your knowledge to deliver successful results. You will develop and use several engineering tools and methods to provide effective design solutions. You will be working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment with a mechanical design perspective.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering calculations for Gas Turbine Sump components (such as Bearings, Housings, and Seals etc.),
- Perform various analysis for Bearings, Housings and Seal components,
- Execute component trade studies and design iterations,
- Determine suitable materials for the design purpose,
- Contribute to engineering methods and calculation tools development efforts,
- Prepare technical reports and present it in the delivery of solutions,
- Communicate technical information effectively either in written or verbal forms,
- Work with other design disciplines in harmony,
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's (BS) degree in Aeronautical, Astronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. Master (MSc.) or higher degree is a plus,
- Excellent command of English language for both written and oral communications,
- Russian language is a plus,
- Familiar with Aviation and Turbomachinery Sump components, Lubrication and Sealing,
- Strong technical understanding in Mechanics of materials, Machine elements design and Fluid Mechanics subjects,
- Experience using computer aided design tools (such as NX),
- Experience using finite element analysis tools (such as ANSYS),
- Familiar with Materials & Manufacturing processes for Aviation and Turbomachinery,
- Understand technical drawings and tolerances. Familiar with GD&T,
- Ability to build engineering calculation tools. (Programming skills with Python/Matlab or similar tools is preferable),
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment,
- Willingness to accept responsibility and to take initiative.
