We are currently recruiting Senior Compliance Specialist for our Sustainability Department in ITX Trading Istanbul Office. Inditex Sustainability Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with Inditex Code of Conduct for External Suppliers and Manufacturers (Inditex COC) and ensuring ethical sourcing within the supply chain. The department is also responsible for implementing sustainability related projects in the supply chain of textile production.
Qualifications:
- Passion for worker rights, excellent ethical values
- Minimum university degree, Master Degree on Human Rights, Social Work or OHS is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience / 500 social compliance auditing as lead auditor at textile factories in Turkey and East Europe as a brand/retailer or 3rd party auditing agency or other similar companies.
- Social auditing experience in abroad is a plus.
- Demonstrable knowledge and expertise in one of the priority impact areas of Inditex Sustainability Strategy such as Women Empowerment, Migrant and Refugee Protection, Worker Participation..etc.
- Strong communication skills and self-motivation
- Strong problem solving and follow up skills.
- Adaptable and flexible, adjusting to multiple demands, multi tasking.
- Good knowledge on local and international labor laws.
- Highly skilled in worker interview techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player and communicate effectively at all levels within an organization
- Fluency in English- both verbal and written ; Spanish is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office
- B class driving licence
- No restrictions to travel.
Job Description:
Sustainability Senior Social Compliance Specialist will be mainly responsible to act as an expert in the team, provide training, conduct social audits in local textile factories and will help to establish the correct implementation of the Inditex Sustainability Strategy in Turkey along with Sustainability Country Manager. Your role is;
- Understanding international best practices – including commitment of Inditex to International Standards
- Has knowledge on social issues impacting workers and being sensitive towards them.
- Conducting audits and prepare reports in line with Inditex audit methodology.
- Leading the knowledge management initiative on labor laws and other associated legal framework and disseminate information to the sustainability team, suppliers and their factories.
- Leading communication with suppliers in order to identify possible improvement areas, root causes and capacity building.
- Audit Quality Management of audits conducted by 3rd parties in Turkey and Eastern Europe.
- Providing planning, execution and monitoring support in sustainability projects.
- Participating in planning, execution and monitoring support in day-to-day tasks of related teams.
- Having knowledge on social issues impacting workers and being sensitive towards them
- Actively participating in developing Inditex Sustainability strategy in Turkey.
- Interacting with local and international civil society
- Managing regular reporting requirements of Inditex to Sustainability Country Manager
Senior Social Compliance Specialist position based in Istanbul, with extensive travel within Turkey and abroad as required.
