As an international company we are looking for a Tender Engineer.
Job brief
We are looking for somebody to join our tendering department as Tender Engineer to be responsible for preparing and submitting completed bids to existing and prospective clients. He/She ensures that all the client’s requirements have been met as fully as possible, the bid documents are submitted with the appropriate quality and the organization has given itself the best possible chance of success.
The Tender Engineer works in close cooperation with the Business Development Manager in charge of the client or prospect, and coordinates with the other departments in order to obtain the various elements of the bid (design, procurement, operations, contract, legal, finance and other departments as necessary). The Tender Engineer is responsible for the preliminary design assumptions necessary to establish a BOQ, assisted as necessary by the design department depending on complexity of the project.
The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical or civil engineering. Previous experience in photovoltaics field is a plus. You must have great attention to detail and good communication skills.
Job descriptions
Some of the duties and responsibilities of the Tender Engineer are as follows:
- Review of the tender information received from the client
- Clarification of bid conditions and tender preparation
- Participate in and support bid/no bid decision together with Business Development team
- Prepare preliminary technical information and design and propose initial design assumptions necessary to define a bill of quantities for the purpose of calculating the costs of the projects
Responsible for cost and price calculations
Coordinating with procurement, design, operations, contract, legal and other departments to share/collect and review information relevant to each department, as necessary to prepare the bid
Support the Business Development team in discussions, clarifications and negotiations with the client, as necessary
Participate in the internal tender approval process for the bids where it is required
Copywriting, if and as necessary
Collect information relating to the bids and organize it in a way to support continuous improvement of the bidding process.
Actively propose actions and take part in continuous improvement process
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in preparing tenders or as a design engineer in a PV field.
- BSc/BA in engineering, construction science or relevant field
Excellent command of English is a must, 2nd language is an asset
Analytical thinker with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work with teams from different cultures and effective communication skills
Time management and organization skills
Good understanding of the rules of tendering
Ability to read electrical schematics
Practical knowledge of AutoCAD
Knowledge of PV Syst would be an asset
Advance use of MS Office programs is a must
