QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

WYG Turkey is seeking eligible and qualified full timeTranslator and Interpreter.

The ideal candidate will be hard working, flexible individual with excellent written and oral communication skills in Turkish/English languages and will be working under the guidance and direct supervision of the Translation and Interpretation Unit Coordinator and ability to work closely with the Translation and Interpretation Team.

· Bachelor’s degree from Translation and Interpretation Departments of the Universities,

· Minimum 1 year job experience,

· Native Turkish,

· Fluency in written and spoken Turkish and English, Written and Verbal Communication, Understanding of Grammar, Knowledge of European Union Projects, Interpersonal Communication, Accuracy, Attention to Detail, Software Proficiency, Motivation, Ability to Meet Deadlines, Ability to Work Under Pressure,

· Full computer literacy, advanced level of competency in MS Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, PPT and Outlook), SmartCat and CAT Tools,

· Multi-tasking skills, including the ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines without sacrificing the quality or accuracy and attention to detail,

· Ensures meaning and context are maintained, creates glossaries or term dictionaries,

· Consults with the Translation Unit Coordinator, Translation Unit Team, subject matter experts and other colleagues to understand specialized concepts and translate them appropriately,

· Ability to establish priorities, plan, coordinate and monitor own tasks,

· To maintain the highest standards of personal integrity, impartiality, and self-discipline,

· Capacity to work effectively within a team,

· Written Translation and Simultaneous/Consecutive/Whisper Interpretation skills,

· Being flexible in working hours and have no travel restrictions,

· Maintaining confidentiality in all matters relating to the work,

· No military service obligation for male candidates.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Translator and Interpreter will be responsible for:

· Accurate translation of the project documents, regulations, training materials, information materials and other written materials from English to Turkish and vice versa. Content accuracy, detailed comparison of content, facts and figures, terminology,

· Reviewing, Proofreading, Quality check, accurate translation with the consistent usage of the terminology,

· Being responsible for Simultaneous/Consecutive/Whisper Interpretation during the meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars organised by WYG Turkey,

· Providing Simultaneous Interpretation from a booth, through online applications (zoom) from Turkish to English and vice versa will be a strong asset,

· Ability to provide accurate, high quality interpretation and translation services under pressure,

· Assisting the Experts and the Team Leader of the projects in matters related to language barrier,

· To work within the deadlines and be available for comments and corrections,

· Any other relevant tasks.
