QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Role
Working within a multi-disciplinary team in the context of the preparation of transport studies, this role is an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner with an interest and experience on sustainable transport.
Key elements of this role include:
· Work in a multi-disciplinary and international team tasked with delivering transport planning studies.
· Contribute to the projects with general Transport Planning skills, but with a specific focus sustainable transport planning;
· Assist with organization of meetings and general coordination of technical team
Requirements
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
· Demonstrated Transport Planning experience in any of transport policy and strategy development, traffic impact assessments, capacity studies (road and/or rail), business case appraisals
· Excellent team work and interpersonal skills;
· Good communication skills; and
· Ability to prepare and present factual reports;
· Professional working proficiency in English is essential.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
· Broad experience of different working contexts, both geographical, cultural and working environments;
· Experience of working with public, as well as private stakeholders;
· Specifying and overseeing data analysis including surveys
· Knowledge and experience in computer programming languages (e.g. Python, R);
· Good knowledge of transport modelling related software packages (e.g. Aimsun, Vissim/VISUM, MATSim) as well as knowledge and experience of GIS software is highly desirable;
· A good understanding of the latest and emerging Transport Engineering technologies regulations and standards; and
Qualifications and Experience:
· Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Planning or Engineering area.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in Transport Planning.
