QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Koç University Information Technology Directorate will be hiring an Data Engineering Specialist mainly responsible for all KU IT services with the below mentioned qualifications.This position is remote.
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, MIS, Mathematics, or related fields
- At least 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence tools
- Strong Experience in Data Modeling & Data Warehousing, Data Integration and ETL processes
- Strong knowledge of at least one programming language, preferably Python
- Any of the following are big plus: AWS / Azure Data Lake, Kafka, Hadoop, NoSQL
- Strong analytical, problem solving and estimating skills
- Excellent oral and written skills in English
- No military obligation for male candidates
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Design, develop, implement and optimize data pipelines with variable dynamics for varying use cases
- Design, develop, implement and optimize mechanisms for data exchange between domains, applications and organizations
- Develop and execute various test strategies (unit, integration, functional) in order to control and ensure the quality of the code
- Organize and manage the code so as to support CI/CD
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data and analysis needs, challenges and problem
- Consolidating the reporting demands, evaluating according to the priorities and taking the development decisions
- Ensuring BI Platforms & Decision-making Systems to serve continuously and to produce consistent reports
- Developing, analyzing and maintaining the dashboards which are produced in Power BI Platforms.
- Executing data integration and data quality control on onpremise SSIS and Reporting services
- Preventing the possible problems on Data Warehouse proactively
- Eager to learn new technologies
