Sales Engineer
Main purpose of the job


To support the Customer team in serving the dedicated account, specifically by autonomously managing customer RFQ’s and covering the engineering changes process in order to reach maximum customer satisfaction and profitability.

Scope of the job


The position has no direct or indirect reports.

The position covers the dedicated customer’s needs for all plants within the Group globally. The position is directly responsible for the customer RFQs and participates on global/core RFQs by supporting the Customer team.
The generated cost information will be used by Sales for quotations and negotiations, by Development for design optimisations and by Management for decision taking. For most OE projects, the cost calculator is team member of a project team, thus acting within the OE matrix structure.

Key areas of responsibilities and accountability

Ensure administrative and professional support to project and sales teams – track internal RACCI, Purchase orders, prepare and track tooling invoices and payment from the customer etc.
Ensure and fill up customer internet system linked to project status (LION), customer system (ESL, INCA) with respect to ensure right information
Distribute the information from the customer system to the organisation and teams
Ensure the administrative support to sales manager regarding new RFQ/Changes, tracking of RFQ status, preparation of CBD, presentations etc.
Follow up prices on current business
Generate „spot” and spare part offers and direct price negotiation with customer
Support to sales manager by plant budget creation
Management of offers overview
Projects initiation in internal system (PLM)
Provide additional professional and administrative activities related to the operation of sales, project and plant
Collect information from different sources internal (Development, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Project Management, Management) and external to be reflected in the cost file
Sets up cost files for quotations; maintains/updates cost files during development phase
Verifies cost information and give feedback
Advises development/management by setting up cost comparisons
Makes cost calculations during quotation / development
Makes cost checks after SOP (verification)
Checks cost files, set up by plants during quotation/development/SOP

Requirements (competencies, skills, experience)

Skills:
Master degree is the advantage (min. Bachelor graduate in Engineering)
Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Be familiar with ERP systems is a plus
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Highly skilled in Excel

Experience

Newly graduate or Miumum 1 years in automotive industry is the advantage.
Experience with relevant customer systems is a pre.
Mechanical or Industrial Engineering back ground, experience in a production area, preferably in the Automotive Industry
