QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Omya is a leading global producer of industrial minerals – mainly fillers and pigments derived from calcium carbonate and dolomite – and a worldwide distributor of specialty chemicals. We seek for an Energy & Performance Project Engineer who will be based in our Kemalpaşa, İzmir Plant.
The ideal candidate is expected to have the following qualifications and skills:
- University (Bachelor’s Degree) in Science, Engineering ( Electric – Energy Systems – Mechanical – Mechatronic)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Operations and Energy areas.
- Very strong analytical and proactive problem solving skills.
- Ability to find solutions and achieve objectives and drive to completion.
- Ability or experience to manage projects and motivate operations team.
- Ability to combine big picture with detail required to progress.
- Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills, with strong reporting experience.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with high level of self-motivation.
- Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English are required.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
Job Description:
- Prepare and record energy and operational KPI’s and propose areas for further energy efficiency improvements.
- Lead local energy projects for the performance function.
- Develop and implement energy benchmarking initiatives between plants in Region; performance benchmarking initiatives on regional level.
- Identify and define optimization projects with plant managers
- Coordinate plant and process audits with GOP, file reports and follow up on corrective actions, promoting Omya best practices.
- Collect and process operational and energy data to enable continuous improvement in local and regional operations.
- Prepare, maintain and communicate monthly/quarterly production and energy data and KPI’s, establish table for plant efficiencies.
- Provide active link between Financial Controller Operations and local/regional Operations for coordination and follow-up of renewable project CAPEX.
- Ensure Engineering team is fully informed about energy and process developments in Region.
- Be actively involved in preparation of PDR ,IRR of renewable energy projects.
- Take lead for new power plant commissioning, ensuring full cover available with agreed energy specifications of equipment installed.
