QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for providing Engineering organization process support in accordance with documented procedures andpractices. Responsible for the development,implementation, improvement and continuousreinforcement of established Quality Assurancefundamental practices that are utilized in thelocal business. Quality Assurance Engineer will assist in the development andmaintenance of systems, rules, and processes to ensure fulfillment of internaland external requirements. Focused on execution of standard enablingactivities/provision of advice subject to policy and work routines withinengineering.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring quality and regulatory compliance in accordance with documented procedures for all aspects of functional responsibility
- Performs audits as required to assure compliance with internal and external standards. Reviews and assures compliance with standards, specifications and other technical requirements.
- Review and access a variety of Quality and Continuous Process Improvement tools and methods, including but not limited to Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, SPC, DOE, and etc.
- Ensures process compliance effectiveness through the development and implementation of simple yet comprehensive procedures, process verification, and the development of process flow diagrams that describe critical process inter-dependencies with respect to process inputs, outputs, risks and impacts.
- Supports continuous product and process improvement through detailed failure analysis for non-conformance, and investigates, develops and implements effective and compliant solutions for product or process corrections, retrospective and remediation action plans, and for corrective and preventive actions (CAPA Program).
- Communicate and work with sites and suppliers to determine root cause and corrective actions from both processing issues and supplier issues.
- Develops risk management tools and aids for use by the organization in accordance with documented procedures, including but not limited to Failure Mode.Analysis, etc. Develops process mitigation plans and strategies that are designed to mitigate the risks identified through the Risk Management process.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated understanding or aptitude to understand Aviation requirements and regulatory
requirements including but not limited to ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and AS9100. - Demonstrated understanding of product development life cycles, design change and document change control, process verification and validation methodologies, manufacturing /production process control methodologies.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Basic proficiency with of PC tools and software (e.g. Microsoft Office).
- Demonstrated understanding of continuous quality / process improvement tools and methods (e.g. DMIAC, SPC, 5S).
- Ability to communicate in English.
Desired Characteristics:
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes (heat treat, welding, coating, chemical processes, non-conventional machining).
- Demonstrated work experience in reading and interpreting technical engineering specifications.
- Basic understanding of Lean concepts and tools.
- Good initiative and analytical skills.
