For our Global Procurement team, Dinex A/S is looking for a Global Procurement Engineer to be responsible for supplier cost down projects within the Steel and Metal Parts category. The position offers a great opportunity to independently influence the job working cross-functionally with colleagues in the global sourcing team and the rest of the organization globally. You will work closely with stakeholders such as Suppliers, Site Managers, Site personnel, quality control, etc.
Global Procurement Engineer in an international team
With report to the Global Category Manager for Steel and Metal Parts, you will have a key company role in the international Procurement team. You will continuously seek cost-down opportunities, drive continuous improvement and development of suppliers to deliver successful PPAP. You must be prepared to travel approximately 60 days a year. You are ready to take responsibility for and meet ambitious targets in an environment of fast decision making.
The responsibilities described above include the following primary tasks:
- Interface with Procurement team to prioritize supplier development needs to improve cost competitiveness
- Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes
- Assess new and existing supplier capabilities to meet cost, product, quality and capacity requirements
- Act as consultant to communicate and coach the Organization to drive cost effective improvements, minimizing waste, introduce new products and improve product design
- Work directly with the suppliers to develop improvements plans related to e.g., APQP incl. PPAP, NCR handling incl. root cause analyze (8D problem-solving).
- Managing the local metal laboratory in Turkey (optional)
Competences
Must
- Min. 3 years’ experience as Supplier Quality Engineer or Procurement Engineer in a relevant industry e.g. automotive, white goods, metal parts
- Proven track record of cost-down project
- Solid production experience with all kinds of metal suppliers.
- Data analysis skills - Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Power Point
- Outstanding organization, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English verbal and written.
Preferable
- Experienced with APQP, claim handling, 8D problem solving.
- Knowledge and experienced with standards as IATF 16959, ISO9001
- Understating of health & safety and environmental practices.
Success criteria
- Identification and exploitation of optimization and cost out opportunities. 10% cost downs on related categories.
- Ensure Good parts getting developed focusing on the target of Zero PPM Suppliers.
- No line stoppages on behalf of Supplier quality parts.
- Ability to read drawings and support the development of parts
- Resolve major technical problems involving purchased material with in-depth knowledge of supplier processes.
