QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Executing the production activities with optimum usage of manpower, machines and material resources in parallel to the limits of the company's quality policy, technical drawings, process specifications, customer requirements, 5S applications and EHS requirements. To interact between the workshops as well as the engineering function and EHS / Lean management teams, Logistics and Project Managers in order to assure that the production activities are executed according to the master scheduling using the optimum amount of resources and within the budgeted costing and motivating his/her staff.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide manufacturing / technical assistance and leadership to assigned work group
- Lead the shift base running large teams (manage production employees and production schedule requirements to include timekeeping, overtime, time off)
- Support and meet production schedules, drive productivity and quality initiatives, and manage the area within budget guidelines and controls
- Utilize data analysis to improve safety, decrease quality defects, and increase productivity
- Communicate and enforce handbook and other plant policies
- Interface with internal and external customers, define priorities for shifts and work group leveraging production meetings (and shift change meetings, as needed)
- Actively participate in 5S, Environment, Health and Safety initiatives and corrective actions
- Actively participate on cross-functional teams and demonstrate necessary leadership and coaching skills to other team members
- Update and revise process specifications according to the revised production methods in order to secure Company Quality Policies and Customer Satisfaction
- Control the maintenance activities in order to maximize the availability of machineries and equipment
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Welding Engineering
- 2 years of manufacturing/technology experience in welding/joining processes such as; conventional resistance and oxyacetylene brazing
- Experience in material characterization, mechanical testing methods such as tensile, hardness, toughness
- Theoretical and practical welding process experience, preferably holding non-destructive testing methods certification (UT, MT)
- Managing blue collar workers in tank manufacturing workshop
- Follow-up all production processes as well as coordination of corrective and preventive actions
- Leading Kaizen, 5S, Lean Production activities
- Controlling & increasing efficiency and productivity and ensuring that all related time spend per activity is properly registered into system
- Coordination of engineering design change notices in production
- Fluent English and Turkish (written & verbal)
- Knowledge of EN 719 standard is preferable
