QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

SCOPE OF POSITION: The regional sales engineer position is responsible for directing, supervising. and executing Boreas Technology air side and data center products sales/marketing strategic goals throughout our designated dealer/contractor network. Also responsible for developing new sales channels and dealers who can sell HVAC equipment in the same region.

Reports directly to Sales Director. Ensures efficient, effective, and productive operations for regional territory managers and support teams. Responsible for supervision, direction, and corrective action, as required, to achieve desired objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establish and achieve Regional Sales and Profit Objectives. Directs and coordinates sales distribution by establishing territory quotas and goals.
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals and major HVAC equipment buyers. Effectively balances Boreas Technology’s corporate sales and profit objectives.
  • Support sales director in developing and assisting new and existing accounts and in sales presentations.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules and new or local market players.
  • Plans and direct sales and supports programs to promote new markets, improve competitive position in existing markets, and maintain fast and efficient customer services.
  • Advises sales director and dealers regarding sales and advertising techniques.
  • Stays abreast of technological and competitive developments in HVAC equipment and distribution. This includes reviewing articles in trade publications, attending trade shows, monitoring and evaluating competitor's activities and products.
  • Represents Boreas Technology at trade association meetings, customer promotions, etc. to promote company products and programs. Participates in dealer advisory councils.
  • Promotes and maintains positive dealer relations. Assists clients and/or sales director with negotiation and closing deals.
  • Develops, implements, and audits departmental budget to ensure assigned division conforms to budgetary requirements. Approves departmental expenditures and appropriations.
  • Reviews product sales and marketing to eliminate unprofitable item's from sales line.
  • Promotes and maintains a flexible cooperative, positive, team-oriented attitude with and between departments and end users.
  • Ensures timely, accurate, proper records, files, data bases, etc. are developed and maintained for assigned areas of responsibility.
Open and willing to perform other duties as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor degree in business, marketing, or similar, with 5 years of progressive sales experience preferrably in air side product sales of HVAC industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and negotiation.
  • Proficient PC skills with ability to use various software systems.
  • Able to project and maintain positive and professional business relationships.
  • Able to travel to fulfill job duties/responsibilities. Travel involves overseeing assigned territories, visiting dealers, special assignments, trade shows and attending company sponsored events/functions as required.
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, demanding and changing environment with good attention to detail.
  • Proficient analytical, computation, organization and follow through skills. Proficient PC skills within the Microsoft Office environment. This includes spreadsheets and the ability to build and use formulas for electronic worksheets.
  • Holding a valid driver license.
