BAT TURKEY IS LOOKING FOR AN INDIRECT SOURCING MANAGER

SENIORITY LEVEL: Experienced Professional

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The Sourcing Manager’s role plays a crucial part in the delivery of benefits at the end market level.

Through their strongknowledge on related categories in responsible end markets, the Sourcing Manager plays an important role in the provision of data for category strategy development and in the implementation of global and geographic category strategies.

Geographic Scope: Turkey

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • To execute Strategic sourcing activities as per BAT policies via obtaining the best possible advantage for BAT through the negotiations via electronical tools
  • Internal requirement Analysis – to obtain sufficient data and information to understand the historical aspects of the category of spend in scope. This provides both insights for potential improvement opportunities and a baseline from which the results of the sourcing initiative can be objectively calculated.
  • Market Analysis – to gain an appropriate level of understanding of the supply market. It is from this analysis that the relative competitiveness of the market is understood together with supplier capability. It enables the selection of the most appropriate suppliers that can satisfy the business need. Equally importantly it will provide insights on how potential opportunities may be unlocked.
  • Define and execute sourcing and negotiation strategy.
  • Utilize at max the electronical tools available for sourcing stages (RFI, RFX, E-Auction)
  • Negotiate, develop, and manage the implementation of Service Level Agreements with contracted suppliers that will promote an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Manage the various risks related to commodities during contracting with suppliers of goods or services.
  • Support to deliver Area Productivity Initiatives of TCNA (Savings and Weighted Average Payment Terms)
  • Work Closely with above market structures within procurement (Global procurement teams, Tactical Procurement teams in Romania, etc.)
  • To lead the business to a direction which is compliant with procurement policy and escalate any compliance issues.
  • Actively take role during budgeting periods of the stakeholders, which will let procurement team to build a healthy sourcing plan throughout the year.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE BENEFICIAL

  • Good influencing and facilitation skills to act as the interface between end market business units and procurement balancing the optimum delivery of customer requirements with the need to adhere to a global approach
  • University Degree
  • 2-3 years experience in the sourcing process including negotiation and contracts placement (Preferably multinational FMCG companies)
  • Understanding of financial evaluation and interpretation of supplier’s records and their key cost and business drivers.
  • Experience in managing projects, especially to execute category and sourcing strategies at end market level.
  • Knowledge about the procurement processes, platforms, and policies

  • To manage any conflicting requirements between internal stakeholders and procurement at end market level escalating any issues as appropriate, as well as supporting internal stakeholders for any solution of disputes with external suppliers.
  • Act as a role model, for creating an environment among peers that promotes high motivation, discipline, teamwork, and a balanced work life.

Ability to conduct optimum level of communication with external suppliers.
