QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
What you will do
The Technical Support Engineer- Engineered Fire Protection Systems will be directly reporting to the Technical Support Manager. You will be based in Ankara and support sales and growth initiatives in Turkey by providing technical/design support and training services activities for Gaseous Suppression Systems (FM200, Novec 1230, CO2, Inert) as well the Foam and Foam Hardware.
You will be in direct contact with customers and/or via first line customer support in our branches. As a member of the technical support team, you will collaborate very closely with sales, global functional teams such as product management and global Tech Services group.
How you will do it
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will provide Technical & Specification Support to Sales Team and Customers. You will support the full product range of Gaseous Suppression Systems and Foam Systems. You will use JCI softwares for hydaraulic calculation and design of Gaseous Suppression Systems.
At this role, you will communicate with consultants, designers, project managers, and end users. You will not only provide design services & engineering of typical system solutions, but also advice and support projects by applying JCI solutions according international codes & standards (such as NFPA, FM, EN, VdS).
What we look for
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or similar field
- Minimum 2 years experience in designing and engineering Foam and Gaseous Fire Suppression Systems
- Good verbal and written command of English
- Problem-solver, self-starter, good communicator and data and analytics driven by nature
- General knowledge of the Fire Protection Engineering principals and awareness of currents industry trends
- Understanding and application of the applicable EN and NFPA standards in regards to special hazards fire protection including EN15004, NFPA 2001, 12, 11, 16, 30, among others
- Understanding and application of the applicable FM standards
- General awareness of the International Building Code (IBC)
- Solid business communication skills, including but not limited style and format of letters, and reports
- Presentation skills
- Ability to identify need for and develop, processes and supporting materials
- Well-versed in MS Office applications and proficiency in AutoCAD
- Willingness to travel
