JOB DESCRIPTION
The company is seeking a business-minded Legal Counsel to join the legal team. The Legal Counsel will assist in managing Turkey-based operations.
RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Leads legal projects (personal data protection, contract management, etc.)
- Coordinate and control external legal resources
- Manage disputes and litigation
- Assist the Legal Manager in managing the priorities and pressing issues to meet the deadlines and commitments to internal clients
- Assist the Legal Manager with managing the requests of Banvit business units with regards to personal data protection law, contracts law, and intellectual property law
- Provides reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep the Legal Manager informed of the operation and progress of compliance effort.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE /SKILLS /OTHER COMPETENCIES
- Preferably, at least 1 year of relevant inhouse experience (food industry)
- Considerable legal project management experience
- Experience in personal data protection law, contracts law, intellectual property law, and litigation management
- A high degree of motivation, excellent organizational and communication skills, and strong academic background
- Able to work with and communicate effectively with non-lawyers
- Proficient in spoken and written English language
- Located in Istanbul or Bandirma
GRADUATION/SCHOLARSHIP/EXPERIENCE
- 4 years’ law school degree (from reputable Law Schools, Master's Degree (LL.M) is preferred)
- Qualified legal practitioner admitted to the Bar.
Up to 5 years of post-qualification experience whether in-house or with a law firm.
