QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Freudenberg is one of the worldwide innovators and leader in the sealing technologies that is currently seeking for a “Product Engineer” to join the team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Mechatronics Engineering Departments,
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Technical knowledge and experience about automotive sector
  • Ability to design solutions for products within given framework
  • Knowledge and experience in APQP (new product launch) activities
  • Good commands of CAD programs (preferably Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX)
  • Ability to read & create technical drawings
  • Basic knowledge about sensor technologies, signal analysis and management
  • Advanced knowledge of English language, German is an asset
  • Knowledge about problem solving tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Red X)
  • Highly organized, team player, pro-active and result oriented,
  • A flexible approach with the ability and willingness to travel (domestic/abroad)


JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Design solutions for products within the framework of given concepts according to general guidelines and coordinate their development over time (application of APQP, name of the FST global process is GPS PLM 000 0083).
  • Design links by modifying existing functions and elements.
  • Deadline-, function- and installation-oriented provision of assemblies for the further development steps to ensure solution drafts under consideration of functional, material-, manufacturing-related and economic aspects, evaluate them, coordinate them with the responsible authorities (design, construction and create FMEA).
  • Carry out a design investigation on function, arrangement and design, elements select/change.
  • Check drawings and data records, ensure documentation.
  • Execution of simulations and calculations regarding strength, service life, wear, dimensions and weight
  • Execution of planning supervision and evaluation of test bench tests
  • Design optimization of the existing products regarding to cost / function matrix (VA/VE methodology)
