QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

H&S Senior Engineer will direct report to HESSR Director, YILMADEN.
Job Description
- To serve as the lead H&S professional for the company.
- Working as a HESSR Business Partner for the areas under his/her responsibility.
- To participate in the development, implementation, monitoring, and refinement of safety and health, procedures, programs, and related required training, in line with ISO 45001 and other international standards.
- To develop/update and support/lead the implementation of Regulatory & Compliance, Conformance Review & Audit programs to ensure all activities at the sites comply with the local regulations and corporate HESSR programs.
- With a continuous improvement mindset, to make suggestions for the development of new programs according to the analysis.
- To follow up and guide the site teams regarding H&S issues in the sites and to make preventive suggestions to the management regarding the risks.
- To determine and report the risk level by investigating the sites and documents in new site/company purchases.
- To have daily interaction with staff at all levels in HQ and sites.
- To have periodic interaction with local authorities and regulatory agencies.
- To ensure Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) and lessons learned are effectively communicated and constantly applied to sites.
- Participate in/lead monthly meetings with sites to discuss HESSR performance.
- To help develop/update and support the implementation of the IT tool/s used for the management of HESSR activities, records and statistics.
- Manage & Lead the global insurance program for YILMADEN and related subsidiaries.
Qualifications
- B.A. / B.S. / M.S., preferably in engineering (mining engineering graduation is a plus), physical sciences.
- To hold the related H&S certification/s. (B or A-Class Certificate, NEBOSH IGC etc.)
- To have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in related operations (mining, U/G mining, ferroalloys, etc.).
- To have a minimum of 7 years of total experience in H&S or HSE.
- To have leadership and management experience and skills.
- To have a strong working knowledge of local regulations as well as other regulatory standards including, but not limited to, EN, NFPA, EBRD, The World Bank etc.
- To have the ability to balance and prioritize multiple & multidiscipline projects.
- To have active organization and time management skills.
- To have strong interpersonal, analytic, presentation, verbal and written communication skills both in Turkish and English. Russian is a plus.
- To have statistical knowledge background to analyze and interpret the data.
